Cranial osteopathy for babies is a gentle, non-invasive form of osteopathic treatment that focuses on the cranial (head) area but can also address the spine and body. It’s based on the concept that the bones of the skull and body can subtly move, and that these movements can affect the central nervous system, health, and well-being.
Osteopaths who practise cranial osteopathy use soft, light touch to release tension, balance the body, and improve function, particularly for infants who may have experienced stress or trauma during birth. Cranial osteopathy looks at the body as a whole, considering how imbalances in one part may affect other areas, including posture, nervous system function, and general comfort.
Many parents of babies we have treated report positive outcomes such as improved sleep, reduced colic, and a more relaxed and content baby.
